Iranian artist Seyyed Omid Hamedi’s photography artwork will be displayed at Azadi Tower in the Iranian capital city of Tehran on Monday, October 23.

Arbaeen is the end of the 40-day mourning period following the martyrdom of Imam Hussain (AS) and his companions on Ashura, the 10th of Muharram when Imam Hussein (AS) and his companions were martyred.

The five-day exhibit titled ‘Forty Steps to Arbaeen’ will run until October 27.

Every year a large number of pilgrims come together in the holy city of Karbala, Iraq, to observe mourning rituals of Arbaeen near the holy shrine of Imam Hussein (AS).

According to official statistics, Karbala has annually hosted more than 20 million pilgrims on Arbaeen Day of recent years.
